Hickory, N.C. - The Newberry College Volleyball Team (11-10, 4-7) swept a South Atlantic Conference match from Lenoir-Rhyne University (8-10, 5-8), 3-0, Friday night at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.? Newberry won the contest by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-20.

Newberry's Samantha Parrish (Angola, Ind.) led the way with a match-high 15 kills while Kara Harris (Grandview, Texas) added nine kills and 12 digs as the Wolves snapped a seven-match losing streak.

Junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with a team-high seven kills for the Bears while freshman middle blocker Kayla Morrow (China Grove, N.C.) and sophomore outside hitter Cayla Crawley (Bryson City, N.C.) added six kills each despite the setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior libero Marrissa Church (Statesville, N.C.) chipped in with a match-high 13?digs but Newberry was able to sweep the season series between the two schools.

Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Anderson on Saturday in a South Atlantic Conference match beginning at 2 p.m.? Meanwhile, Newberry travels to Brevard, N.C., to face Brevard in a league contest Saturday at 2 p.m., as well.
