Junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury led Lenoir-Rhyne with a career-high 22 kills despite a 3-1 loss to conference-rival Catawba Tuesday evening in Salisbury, N.C.

Salisbury, N.C. - The Catawba College Volleyball Team (11-12, 6-9) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (12-12, 5-10), 3-1, Tuesday evening in a South Atlantic Conference match at Goodman Gymnasium.? The Indians won by scores of 26-24, 21-25, 25-20 and 28-26 and snapped the Bears' four-match winning streak in the process.

Catawba's Shay Meeks (Kings Mountain, N.C.) led the way with a team-high 20 kills while Jordan Raye (Boonville, N.C.) added 45 assists and 12 digs as the Indians avenged an earlier regular season loss to the Bears.

Kaitlyn Whitmer (Ferrum, Va.) tallied a double-double (13 kills and 15 digs) as well for Catawba, who won its second straight match.

Freshman setter Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.), this week's league specialist of the week, finished with 44 assists while junior libero Marrissa Church (Statesville, N.C.) totaled a season-high 30 digs for the Bears.

Lenoir-Rhyne plays Wingate in a league contest Friday in Wingate, N.C., at 7 p.m.? Catawba hosts SAC-foe Brevard Friday at 6:30 p.m.
