Mars Hill, N.C. - The Mars Hill College Volleyball Team (7-7, 3-7) swept a South Atlantic Conference match from Lenoir-Rhyne University (7-8, 4-6), 3-0, Friday night at Stanford Arena. The Lions won by scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-18.
Mars Hill's Jenna Luke (Mishawaka, Ind.) and Evie Tafunai (Edwardsburg, Mich.) each finished with a team-high 10 kills as the Lions avenged an earlier loss to the Bears.
Sarah Paquette (Swannanoa, N.C.) added a match-high 36 assists for Mars Hill, who won its second straight contest.
Junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Mooresville, N.C.) led Lenoir-Rhyne with a match-high 12 kills while freshman setter Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.) added 32 assists despite the setback.
L-R junior libero Marrissa Church (Statesville, N.C.) finished with a team-high 16 digs as well in the losing effort.
Lenoir-Rhyne faces Tusculum in a South Atlantic Conference match Saturday in Greeneville, Tenn., beginning at Noon. Mars Hill hosts Brevard Saturday in a league contest at 3 p.m.
