L-R Men's Basketball Wins A 75-73 Thriller Over Lincoln Memorial

Harrogate, Tenn. ? The Lenoir-Rhyne Men?s Basketball Team (6-17, 4-9) won its third straight game with a thrilling, 75-73?victory over Lincoln Memorial (18-6, 8-5) Saturday night at Tex Turner Arena.?? L-R junior forward D.J. Blackmon (Albemarle, N.C.) scored a career-high 34 points while senior guard Ryan Crawford (Stuarts Draft, Va.) hit the game-winning lay-up with one second left.

Blackmon scored 21 points?after halftime and the Bears rallied from a 10-point, first-half deficit to avenge an earlier setback to the Railsplitters.

Lincoln Memorial?s D?Mario Curry (Detroit, Mich.) finished with a team-high 30 points to go along with 11 rebounds to complete the double-double.? Curry also hit 14-of-19 free throw attempts in the losing effort.

L-R freshman guard Spenser Sydney (Lincolnton, N.C.) added 15 points as the Bears shot 51 percent (26-of-51) from the field in the victory.

The Bears did not take the lead until the 6:32 mark of the second half when freshman guard Kameko Walls (Winston-Salem, N.C.) hit a field goal for a 59-58 advantage.

Lincoln Memorial, which fell behind by a 67-62 score, rallied to tie the contest at 73 on a jump shot by Carlos Sanford (Durham, N.C.) with eight seconds remaining before Crawford?s game-winning field goal with one second left.

LMU?s Desmond Johnson (Lynch, Ky.) and Stuart Miller (Harrogate, Tenn.) added 12 points each despite the loss.

Lenoir-Rhyne does not play again until Saturday when it travels to Salisbury, N.C., to take on Catawba at 4 p.m., while Lincoln Memorial hosts Catawba on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
