Anderson Volleyball Holds On To Defeat Lenoir-Rhyne, 3-2

Anderson, S.C. - The Anderson University Volleyball Team (9-2, 3-0) held on to defeat Lenoir-Rhyne University (5-4, 2-3), 3-2, in a South Atlantic Conference match Saturday afternoon at the Abney Athletic Center.? Anderson won by scores of 22-25, 25-21, 25-19, 23-25 and 15-13.

Anderson's Tori Calhoon (Costa Rica, Calif.) led the way with a match-high 12 kills while Lindsay Doggett (Jacksonville, Ala.) added 48 assists and 12 digs for the double-double as the Trojans remained undefeated in league play.

L-R junior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Statesville, N.C.) finished with a team-high 11 kills while sophomore setter Meredith Lutz (Statesville, N.C.) added a double-double (16 assists and 13 digs) despite the setback.?

Junior?middle blocker?Chelsea Hill (Lexington, N.C.) contributed 10 kills in the losing effort for L-R, who also registered 10 team blocks in falling in its third straight conference contest.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Montreat Tuesday at 7 p.m., while Anderson travels to Harrogate, Tenn., to face Lincoln Memorial in a league contest next Friday at 6:30 p.m.
