Salisbury, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team (3-1) split a pair of matches Saturday on the final day of the Catawba College Invitational Tournament at Goodman Gymnasium.
Lander 3, Lenoir-Rhyne 2 (24-26, 25-15, 20-25, 25-15 and 15-8)
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman setter Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.) tallied a double-double with 10 kills and 19 assists despite the loss.
L-R sophomore setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) finished with 20 assists while junior libero Marrissa Church (Statesville, N.C.) added 29 digs in the losing effort.
Lander was paced Candace LaRocca's (St. Louis, Mo.) 42 assists and 15 digs as the Lady Bearcats rallied from a 2-1 deficit to take the win.? Lander's Melissa McCracken (Washington, Ill.) tallied a match-high 16 kills in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne responded to their first setback of the season with a sweep of Elizabeth City State as the Bears were paced by sophomore middle blocker Cheyenne Cash (Shelby, N.C.) with a team-high eight kills and Burton and Lutz with 14 and 13 assists, respectively.
Lenoir-Rhyne University hosts Brevard College in a South Atlantic Conference match in its home opener on Tuesday beginning at 7 p.m.
