Lenoir-Rhyne junior guard Cameron Sealey finished with a career-high 32 points in leading the Bears to a 74-63 win over Mars Hill Saturday in a league contest at home.

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Basketball Team (9-9, 6-4) defeated Mars Hill College (13-5, 6-4), 74-63, Saturday night in a South Atlantic Conference contest at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.? Junior guard Cameron Sealey (Mount Holly, N.C.) poured in a career-high 32 points to lead the Bears.

Sealey connected on 12-of-21 field goal attempts while?sophomore guard Whitley Culler (Mount Airy, N.C.) added 13 points as Lenoir-Rhyne avenged an earlier loss to Mars Hill.

The Lions' Tyler Carlson (Savannah, Ga.) finished with a team-high 19 points while Taylor Deal (Catawba, N.C.) and Margaret Harvey (Greensboro, N.C.) added 15 points each in the setback.

Mars Hill jumped out to an 11-2 lead just 3:30 into the contest on a three-pointer by Kristen Metcalf (Black Mountain, N.C.) but L-R quickly gained control from there.

A 26-4 run capped off by a lay-up by redshirt freshman forward Caroline Laughter (Hickory, N.C.) late in the half helped the Bears take a 38-26 advantage entering break.? Laughter would eventually finish with 11 points for the evening.

Mars Hill quickly closed the gap to 44-41 at the 12:36 mark of the second half but the Lions couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.

Sealey scored 19 of her 32 points after halftime and helped the Bears build the lead back to double digits en route to the win.

Lenoir-Rhyne shot 51 percent (28-for-55) for the contest while holding Mars Hill to just 36 percent (21-for-58) from the field.? Mars Hill's Jocelyn Williams (Greensboro, N.C.) added eight points and a game-high 14 rebounds despite the loss.

Lenoir-Rhyne hosts Anderson in a South Atlantic Conference contest Wednesday at 6 p.m.? Mars Hill, meanwhile, returns home to take on league-rival Newberry on Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m., as well.
