Brevard, N.C. - The Brevard College Women's Tennis Team (9-5, 2-0) defeated Lenoir-Rhyne University (1-10, 1-6), 8-1, Wednesday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference match at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

The Bears' lone win came at first doubles with junior Emily Mauser (Hickory, N.C.) and sophomore Kelsey Love (Port Orange, Fla.) defeating the Tornados' Lindsay Hostetter (Livonia, Mich.) and?Claire Dillman (West Union, S.C.)?by an 8-6 score.

Mauser and Love improved to 6-1 together?on the season against conference opponents at first doubles.

Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Belmont, N.C., to take on Belmont Abbey Monday at 3 p.m.? Brevard plays Catawba in Salisbury, N.C., on Friday beginning at 2 p.m.
