Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Sweeps Two Matches On Saturday

Junior setter Meredith Lutz totaled 22 assists and seven digs in Lenoir-Rhyne's 3-0 sweeps over Fayetteville State and St. Andrews Saturday at Coker College in Hartsville, S.C.

Hartsville, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (10-5) defeated both Fayetteville State and St. Andrews by 3-0 scores Saturday at Timberlake-Lawton Gymnasium on the campus of Coker College.

The Bears defeated the Lady Broncos by scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-21 in L-R's first match of the day.

Lenoir-Rhyne was led by senior outside hitter Brooke Christenbury (Mooresville, N.C.), who finished with a match-high 10 kills in the win.

Sophomore return specialist Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.) and junior setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) added 19 and 15 assists, respectively, for the Bears.

JaMisha Jordan (Fayetteville, N.C.) dished out 21 assists and LaToya Harvin (Belle Glade, Fla.) finished with seven kills for Fayetteville State in the losing effort.

The Bears rolled to an easy victory over the Knights by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-12.

L-R freshman middle blocker Haley Rhyne (Statesville, N.C.) led the way with a match-high 12 kills while?Burton added 21 assists as the Bears swept their third consecutive opponent.
