Savannah, Ga. - The Lenoir-Rhyne University Volleyball Team (2-2) split its first four matches this past weekend at the Pirate Classic at the Arts & Recreation Center.
Lenoir-Rhyne 3, Limestone 1
The Bears defeated the Saints by scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-19 in its season opener Friday afternoon.
L-R was led by junior outside hitter Katelin Wensley (Advance, N.C.) with 13 kills while junior setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) added 29 assists in the win.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore return specialist Kaitlyn Burton (Mills River, N.C.) added a near double-double - 17 assists and nine digs - in the triumph.

The Pirates rallied from a 2-1 deficit to take the final two sets in route to the win by scores of 25-27, 25-11, 23-25, 25-16 and 25-9 Friday night.
Freshman outside hitter Whitney Brinkley (Asheville, N.C.) tallied a team-high 11 kills for the Bears in the losing effort.
For the Pirates, Jessica Santaniello (Boca Raton, Fla.) led the way with a match-high 16 kills while Ashley Seal (Orlando, Fla.) finished with 46 assists in the losing effort.

The Bears?fell to 1-2 on the year as the Chargers prevailed 25-15, 21-25, 26-24 and 26-24.
