Banner Elk, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (13-6) swept Saint Augustine's (5-18), 3-0, Friday evening on day one of the Lees-McRae Tournament at Williams Gymnasium.

The Bears defeated the Falcons by scores of 25-9, 25-16 and 25-8 in picking up their second consecutive victory.

L-R was led by sophomore outside hitter Kiaya Robinson (Chapel Hill, N.C.) with?a match-high 10 kills while sophomore outside hitter Haley Rhyne (Statesville, N.C.) added nine kills in the win.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior setter Meredith Lutz (Newton, N.C.) totaled a match-high 30 assists and freshman outside hitter Ashley Wells (Lovingston, Va.)?tallied seven kills and nine digs in the victory.

Saint Augustine's Brittany Hicks (Louisburg, N.C.) finished with four kills and Chelsea Farrior (Tampa, Fla.)?chipped in with?nine digs in the losing effort for the Falcons.

As a team, the Bears hit .333 for the contest and finished with nine service aces as well.

On the final day of the tournament Saturday, Lenoir-Rhyne will face Lees-McRae (1:00 p.m.) and Lander (3:00 p.m.).? Meanwhile, St. Augustine's plays Lander on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
