Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Downs Limestone, 94-73, To Open The 2012-13 Season

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore Denzel Dillingham led all scorers with 28 points in a 94-73 win over Limestone Friday afternoon in the 2012-13 season opener at Cuddy Arena in Wingate, N.C.

Wingate, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (1-0) opened the 2012-13 campaign with a 94-73 win over Limestone (0-1) Friday afternoon in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Tip-Off Classic at Cuddy Arena.

Sophomore guard Denzel Dillingham (Hickory, N.C.) led all scorers with 28 points while senior forward B.J. Beasley (Charlotte, N.C.) added 15 points to lead Lenoir-Rhyne to the victory.

Limestone's Charles Blue (Corpus Christi, Texas) finished with a team-high 27 points and Joe Raga (Lithia, Fla.) scored 15 points in addition to four three-pointers in the losing effort.

The Bears held a 66-59 lead after the Saints' Josh Corry (Gaffney, S.C.) hit a three-pointer with 9:09 remaining in the game but Lenoir-Rhyne responded with a 10-0 run to break the contest open.

Junior center Matt Kunz (Kernersville, N.C.) finished with seven points and a game-high nine rebounds as well for the Bears, who showed balance with 10 players scoring and shot 58 percent (35-of-60) from the field as a team.

Corry added 11 points off the bench for Limestone, who also turned the ball over 21 times in the loss.

On the final day of the classic on Saturday, Lenoir-Rhyne will face Queens at 4:00 p.m., while Limestone will take on Wingate, the host school, beginning at 8:00 p.m.
