Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Takes Care Of Queens In Sweep, 3-0

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore defensive specialist Emily Culler tallied a match-high 14 digs in a 3-0 victory over Queens Tuesday night at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium in Hickory, N.C.

Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (7-4) swept Queens (9-6), 3-0, in a non-conference match Tuesday night at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.? The Bears defeated the Royals by scores of 27-25, 25-14 and 25-22 and improved to 4-0 at home this year.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore outside hitter Haley Rhyne (Statesville, N.C.) led the way with a match-high 13 kills as the Bears won their second straight match.

Freshman outside hitter Ashley Wells (Lovingston, Va.) added 11 kills and freshman setter Briana Gottberg (Mooresville, N.C.) finished with 23 assists as L-R defeated Queens for the second time this season.

Finally, sophomore defensive specialist Emily Culler (Mount Airy, N.C.) tallied a match-high 14?digs for Lenoir-Rhyne, who won for the seventh time in the past eight matches.

Despite the loss, Queens' Elizabeth Bialkowski (Raleigh, N.C.) totaled 10 kills and McKenzie Martin (Houston, Texas) dished out a match-high 29 assists.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Friday when the Bears travel to Harrogate, Tenn., to face Lincoln Memorial beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Queens, meanwhile, plays at Pfeiffer in a Conference Carolinas match in Misenheimer, N.C., on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
