Harrogate, Tenn. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (17-7, 12-4) stayed alive in the South Atlantic Conference race after notching a 60-51 road victory over Lincoln Memorial (14-12, 7-9) Saturday evening at Tex Turner Arena.

Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore guard Jazmine Charles (Lexington, N.C.) finished with a team-high 16 points and hit three treys as the Bears stayed one game behind Anderson (19-7, 13-3) in the league standings.?

The Trojans defeated Carson-Newman on the road today by a 58-51 score in Jefferson City, Tenn.

L-R junior guard Danielle Bongiorno (Wilmington, N.C.) came off the bench to score 12 points as the Bears swept the season series from the Lady Railsplitters and won their third straight game.

Lincoln Memorial's Kalasia Green (Laveen, Ariz.) led all scorers with 17 points but the Lady Railsplitters were held to just 32 percent shooting (18-of-57) from the field in the setback.

Lenoir-Rhyne, which never trailed in the contest, opened up a 30-17 halftime lead and extended its advantage to 15 points on a lay-up by senior guard Caroline Laughter (Hickory, N.C.) with 17:51 left for the first points of the second half.

Lincoln Memorial cut the margin to 56-51 on a three-pointer by Ralissa Nelson (Janesville, Wis.) with 49 seconds left but L-R iced the contest with four straight points from the free throw line.? Nelson finished with 12 points in the losing effort.

L-R junior guard Krystal Patton (Chilhowie, Va.) nearly finished with a double-double - nine points and 10 rebounds - as well in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to host Mars Hill on Senior Night at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium while Lincoln Memorial next plays at Wingate.? Both South Atlantic Conference games are scheduled for Wednesday beginning at 6:00 p.m.
