Hickory, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University has announced its 2013-14 SugarBears Dance Team auditions.? The auditions will take place on Monday, August 19, at L-R's Shuford Memorial Gymnasium beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Requirements:
- You do not have to have previous dance experience to audition but is encouraged. The style of the SugarBears is NFL/NBA entertainment style of dance. Tryouts will consist of a short hip hop/jazz dance and an interview.
- You must be committed to attend Lenoir-Rhyne University full time in the fall of 2012
- Current students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0

?Commitment:
Dancers will move in one week prior to school beginning for home training camp. You must be available for all football games and most home basketball games and expected to be at practice two to three times a week.? Dancers need to be available during fall break, team workouts and appearances in the community as well.

Attire/Attendance:
- Please wear solid shorts with skin-colored tights, crop-top or sports bra in L-R colors (Black, cardinal red or white), dance sneakers or tennis shoes (no jazz shoes).
- No loose fitting clothing or t-shirts.
- You must wear your hair down (no ponytails or bows).?

Remember, this is an audition so be creative and be dressed for a performance including hair and makeup.? Please arrive and depart in a warm-up.? Auditions will be based on dance skills, physical fitness, interview presentation and showmanship.
