Hickory, N.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne University's Jacob Queen has been named the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Men's Swimmer Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Queen, a freshman from Hickory, N.C., and a graduate of St. Stephens High School, won three events – the men's 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.05), the men's 200-yard backstroke (1:56.59) and the men's 400-yard individual medley (4:10.95) – last Saturday in a dual meet victory over St. Andrews (150-109) in the 2016-17 season opener in Spartanburg, S.C., on the campus of Converse College.
In addition, Queen also swam his split in 49.00 on the winning men's 400-yard medley relay (3:34.92) for the Bears.
Barton's Annika Jasek-Rysdahl was named the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Women's Swimmer Of The Week.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Swimming Teams next compete in a dual meet with Mars Hill on the road on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.
