Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (12-18) saw its season come to an end with a 3-1 loss to Lincoln Memorial (24-7) in the Quarterfinals of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Championship Tuesday evening at Mars Gymnasium.
The Lady Railsplitters, the second seed in the tournament, defeated the seventh-seeded Bears by scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-16 and 25-15 and snapped Lenoir-Rhyne's five-match winning streak.
Lincoln Memorial moves on to face third-seeded Newberry (20-11) in the semifinals of the league championship on Friday at 4:00 p.m., at Cuddy Arena on the campus of Wingate University.
The Lady Railsplitters were led by Samantha Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) with a match-high 19 kills while Abby Cash (New Carlisle, Ohio) added 39 assists and 22 digs and Kiera Holland (Columbia, S.C.) finished with 11 kills in the victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne was led by junior middle blocker
Emily Steele (Greenville, N.C.) with 12 kills and junior outside hitter
Brooke Redmond (Statesville, N.C.) with 10 kills and 12 digs in the losing effort.

Jillian Born (Wilmington, N.C.) added 16 digs but the Bears hit just .137 for the match and committed five service errors in the setback to Lincoln Memorial.
