High Point, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team lost to High Point by a 74-57 score in an exhibition Wednesday evening at the Millis Center.
The Panthers were led by Emma Bockrath (Dayton, Ohio) with 18 points and nine rebounds while Haleigh Hatfield (Winston-Salem, N.C.) also scored in double figures with 11 points for High Point in the victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior forward Brooke Robinson (Vale, N.C.) totaled 12 points and nine rebounds while junior guard Cassidy Joyner (Dobson, N.C.) added 10 points in the loss.
The Bears scored the first nine points of the fourth quarter to cut the margin to 55-47 with 6:28 left but couldn't get any closer the rest of the way.
Despite the loss, Lenoir-Rhyne held a 39-34 advantage in rebounding but committed 17 turnovers. Sophomore forward Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) added nine points for the Bears as well.
Lenoir-Rhyne faces Appalachian State in an exhibition on Monday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m., in Boone, N.C. High Point hosts Ohio University in its 2016-17 opener on Sunday, November 13, at 2:00 p.m.
