Gaffney, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (8-0) remained unbeaten on the season with a doubleheader sweep over Limestone (2-2), 10-0 and 9-1, Wednesday afternoon at Babe Ruth Field. The first game gave Lenoir-Rhyne's Head Coach – Shena Hollar – her 700th career coaching victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior pitcher Maryann Hoskins (Havelock, N.C.) allowed just one hit to go along with nine strikeouts to improve to 3-0 on the year while the Bears hit four home runs in the victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman outfielder Erin Boone (Creedmoor, N.C.) hit a two-run home run the seventh inning and finished with a game-high four runs batted in and junior first baseman Sydney Landreth (Disputanta, Va.) added two hits, a home run and two runs batted in.
Limestone's Jose Weber (Stanley, N.C.) fell to 1-1 after taking the loss. Lenoir-Rhyne finished with 17 hits in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior third baseman Jordin Phillips (Hampstead, N.C.) hit a three-run home run in the first inning as the Bears run-ruled the Saints.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Ty Triplett (Valdese, N.C.) improved to 3-0 after earning the win. The Bears plated four runs in the top of the sixth inning as well – highlighted by a two-run single from sophomore Mackenzie Cates (Bessemer City, N.C.) – in the sweep.
For Limestone, Klinnin Carson (Ellenboro, N.C.) (1-1) took the loss while Emma Swearingen (Simpsonville, S.C.) drove in the run in the setback.
