Aiken, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (17-5) lost twice to USC Aiken (18-6), 3-2 and 6-3, in a regional doubleheader Friday afternoon at J.H. Satcher Field.
Game One – USC Aiken 3,
Lenoir-Rhyne 2 (10 innings)
The Pacers scored twice in the bottom of the 10th inning thanks to a two-run, walk-off double from Samantha Chubb (Summerville, S.C.) as USC Aiken prevailed in extra innings.
Lenoir-Rhyne and USC Aiken battled for eight scoreless innings before each squad plated a run in the ninth frame. Sophomore second baseman Madison Poe (Siler City, N.C.) and sophomore shortstop Madison Carter (Bessemer City, N.C.) drove in runs for the Bears despite the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman Emily Kenley (Charlotte, N.C.) (1-1) pitched into the 10th inning and struck out 11 batters despite the setback. USC Aiken's Taylor Morgan (Chapin, S.C.) improved to 10-3 on the year after going the distance and earning the victory.

Game Two – USC Aiken 6, Lenoir-Rhyne 3
Trailing by a 3-1 score, the Pacers plated five runs in the fourth inning to take the lead for good to complete the sweep. Sydney Murphy (Cincinnati, Ohio) highlighted the frame with the game-winning, three-run home run.
Carter hit a two-run home run and freshman outfielder Erin Boone (Creedmoor, N.C.) finished with three hits while senior Brandi Hole (Sandy Ridge, N.C.) (1-1) took the loss for the Bears.
Chandler Terrapin (West Columbia, S.C.) improved to 5-3 on the mound for the Pacers, who increased their winning streak to four games.
