Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (25-7, 4-0) made it six straight victories and remained unbeaten in South Atlantic Conference play with a doubleheader sweep of Brevard (11-21, 1-5), 9-2 and 3-2, Friday afternoon at Bears Field.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior first baseman Sydney Landreth (Disputanta, Va.) hit a three-run home run in the first inning while freshman pitcher Brandi Parks (Roaring River, N.C.) threw five scoreless innings to lead the Bears to the win.
Parks, who came on in relief, allowed just two hits while striking out five batters.
Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore outfielder Christina Walker (Roxboro, N.C.) added two doubles and two runs batted in as the Bears took advantage of a pair of Tornados' errors which led to four unearned runs.
For Brevard, Hanna Huckabee (Greensboro, N.C.) and Brittan Miller (James Island, S.C.) drove in runs while Jamie Hrobak (Mill Spring, N.C.) was tagged with the loss.

Game Two – Lenoir-Rhyne 3, Brevard 2
With the score tied at two with one out in the bottom of the seventh, freshman outfielder Erin Boone (Creedmoor, N.C.) came through with the game-winning, walk-off RBI single for the Bears in the sweep of the Tornados.
Kinsey Parrish (Aiken, S.C.) had three hits and two runs batted in for the Tornados, who rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game with a run in the top of the seventh before Boone's heroics in the bottom of the frame.
Parks (7-0) registered the final two outs for the win while sophomore shortstop Madison Carter (Bessemer City, N.C.) and senior third baseman Jordin Phillips (Hampstead, N.C.) both drove in runs for the Bears.
