Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Rolls To Shutout Victory, 4-0 Over Lincoln Memorial

Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (4-2-2, 1-1-1) scored early and often in an easy victory over Lincoln Memorial (1-6, 1-3) in a South Atlantic Conference match Saturday afternoon on the road.

Senior forward Kendall Smith (Asheville, N.C.) scored two goals to lead the Bears, who notched all four of their scores before intermission in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne junior forward Sarah Pullman (San Diego, Calif.) opened the scoring just 9:52 into the match on a give-and-go from freshman midfielder Aqsa Mushtaq (Bradford, ENGLAND), who was credited with the assist.

Junior defender Helen Ramsey (Port Saint Lucie, Fla.) gave the Bears a 2-0 advantage in the 22nd minute off a corner kick.

Smith rounded out the scoring with goals at the 32:19 and 38:12 marks, respectively, of the first half to put the contest away.  Smith now has a team-leading four goals on the year.

Lenoir-Rhyne held a 22-13 edge in shots taken while senior goalkeeper Andrea Leano (San Diego, Calif.) made four saves to earn the victory.  Lincoln Memorial's goalkeeper, Brooke Taylor (White Pine, Tenn.), suffered the loss despite making three stops.

Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Carson-Newman in a South Atlantic Conference match on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex.  Lincoln Memorial plays Wingate on the road next Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
