Lenoir-Rhyne Rallies From Big Deficit To Down Coker, 78-73, In Men’s Basketball

Hartsville, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (8-8, 7-4) rallied from a 19-point first-half deficit to upend Coker (6-11, 3-8), 78-73, Wednesday night in South Atlantic Conference action at the DeLoach Center.

Lenoir-Rhyne senior guard Darrion Evans (Morganton, N.C.) led all scorers with 27 points while senior forward JacQues Chambers (Maysville, N.C.) added another double-double – 11 points and 14 rebounds – as the Bears rallied from a 40-21 deficit late in the first half to take the win.

The Cobras were led by JaQuez Motley (Hinesville, Ga.), who totaled a team-high 17 points but Coker couldn't hold the large first-half lead in suffering its third straight loss.

Lenoir-Rhyne shot 56 percent (16-of-29) in the second half while outscoring Coker by 16 points in the victory.

Lenoir-Rhyne freshman forward Jacob Skidmore (Kings Mountain, N.C.) came off the bench to score 10 points while Chambers now has five double-doubles on the year.

In the next round of South Atlantic Conference games on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., Lenoir-Rhyne visits Brevard in Brevard, N.C., while Coker hosts Lincoln Memorial.
