Anderson, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (6-7, 5-3) picked up a key South Atlantic Conference road win Sunday afternoon, 94-85 over Anderson (7-7, 5-3) at the Abney Athletic Center.

Darrion Evans (Morganton, N.C.) led all scorers with a career-high 32 points in addition to six treys in the victory. Evans also added five rebounds and five assists for the Bears, who hit 15 three-pointers in the contest.
Anderson lost despite a pair of double-doubles from Carlos Dotson (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Randall Shaw (Greenville, S.C.). Dotson scored 24 points to go along with 11 rebounds while Shaw added 23 points and pulled down 11 boards.
The Bears scored 55 points after halftime and led by as many as 14 points – 61-47 with 11:58 left in the game – and held on for the victory.
Evans keyed the second-half surge for the Bears – scoring 21 points – while junior guard
Jarvis Calhoun (Birmingham, Ala.) added 12 points and four three-pointers off the bench.
Junior guards
Billy Bales (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and
Reed Lucas (Greensboro, N.C.) also scored 11 points for the Bears, who shot 57 percent (16-of-27) in the second half and turned the ball over just eight times in the win.
In the next round of South Atlantic Conference games on Wednesday night at 8:00 p.m., Lenoir-Rhyne travels to Charlotte, N.C., to take on Queens while Anderson hosts Lincoln Memorial.
