Pembroke, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Football Team (3-4) returns to action after a bye week to take on UNC Pembroke (1-6) this Saturday, October 28, at Grace P. Johnson Stadium. The kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
Lenoir-Rhyne is coming off a bye week after defeating Limestone by a 35-7 score two Saturdays ago in Gaffney, S.C.
The Bears used a ball-control offense – LR rushed for 199 yards on 50 carries – and a stout and opportunistic defense on their way to the win. Lenoir-Rhyne forced five turnovers including four picks in addition to a 95-yard interception return for a score by sophomore defensive back
Landon Scott (Moultrie, Ga.). Scott earned AstroTurf SAC Defensive Player Of The Week for his efforts.

UNC Pembroke is looking to snap a five-game losing streak. On offense, the Braves are led by quarterback Dominick Samson (Cary, N.C.) with 1,361 yards through the air and 11 touchdowns.
The Braves defeated the Bears last year by a 36-20 score on Saturday, October 8, 2016, in Hickory, N.C., at Moretz Stadium in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. UNC Pembroke finished 10-2 last year, advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs and earned a No. 13 final national ranking.
