Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (0-1), ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division II, fell to second-ranked Limestone (1-0) in the 2017 season opener Saturday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.
The Saints, the national runners-up last year and the 2014 and 2015 national champions, were led by Charlie Sheehan (St. Catharines, Ontario, CANADA) with five goals in the victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne was paced by junior midfielder
Ben Corrigan (Alpharetta, Ga.) with a pair of goals while junior long stick middle
Collin Lett (Greensboro, N.C.) added a pair of assists in the setback.
Limestone won 25 of the 29 faceoffs and held a 57-31 advantage in shots taken in the victory.
After Corrigan scored to tie the contest at five at the 5:44 mark of the second period, the Saints reeled off six straight goals to take control.

Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) suffered the loss in goal despite making 10 saves while Limestone's Danny Forren (Trumbull, Conn.) earned the win in goal after stopping nine shots on the afternoon.
Lenoir-Rhyne next faces Rollins in Savannah, Ga., on Saturday, February 18, beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Limestone hosts Seton Hill (Pa.) next Saturday at Noon.
