Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Basketball Team (15-8, 11-6) won its third straight game, 59-52 over Coker (5-17, 4-13) on Wednesday night in a South Atlantic Conference contest at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.
Four players scored in double figures for the Bears – led by sophomore forward
Madi Suddreth (Taylorsville, N.C.) with 14 points – as Lenoir-Rhyne swept the season series from Coker.
Lenoir-Rhyne's offense finally woke up in the fourth period as the Bears netted 23 points and moved into sole possession of fifth place in the league standings.
Coker was led by Sydney Shull (Irmo, S.C.) with 11 points but the Bears held the Cobras to just 27 percent shooting (15-of-55) for the game.
Two players tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Bears – senior center
Chelsey Romero (Hampton, Va.) and senior forward
Brooke Robinson (Vale, N.C.) – and junior guard
Cassidy Joyner (Dobson, N.C.) added 11 points off the bench in the victory.
In the next round of South Atlantic Conference games on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., Lenoir-Rhyne plays at Carson-Newman in Jefferson City, Tenn., while Coker hosts Tusculum.
