Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team (2-1) won its second straight one-goal game with an 11-10 triumph over Tiffin (Ohio) (0-2) Thursday afternoon at Moretz Stadium.
Lenoir-Rhyne junior attacker 
Torrey Schwitkis (San Diego, Calif.) scored a game-high four goals while freshman midfielder 
Alyssa Sack (Senoia, Ga.) scored three times for the second straight contest in the victory.
The Dragons' Elle Hamilton (Victoria, British Columbia) scored three goals but Tiffin couldn't hold a 3-0 advantage early in the contest.
Lenoir-Rhyne freshman attacker 
Cathleen Gaffney (Allentown, Pa.) broke a seven-all tie with a free position goal at the 12:12 mark of the second half to give the Bears the lead for good.
Lenoir-Rhyne held the edge in both shots taken (28-24) and ground balls (20-10) while junior All-American goalkeeper 
Ines Flueck (Coppell, Texas) earned the win after making nine saves while Tiffin's Kat Schneeberger (Oviedo, Fla.) suffered the loss in goal despite stopping six shots.
Lenoir-Rhyne opens South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday against Coker in Hartsville, S.C., at 1:00 p.m., while Tiffin faces Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C., on Saturday afternoon beginning at 2:00 p.m.
