Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team (7-3, 4-1) captured its third consecutive win with an overwhelming 18-3 victory Brevard (1-7, 0-4) Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference game at Moretz Stadium.
Lenoir-Rhyne senior attacker
Torrey Schwitkis (San Diego, Calif.) finished with two goals and three assists and notched the 100th goal of her career just 1:29 into the game.
Sophomore attacker
Gabby Sousa (Delran, N.J.) scored a game-high four goals – giving her a team-tying 22 goals on the year – as the Bears rushed to a 14-2 advantage at halftime and never looked back.
Brevard, which suffered its fourth straight setback, was led by Nina Siu (Greensboro, N.C.) with two goals on the day.
Lenoir-Rhyne's defense also caused six turnovers while junior All-American goalkeeper
Ines Flueck (Coppell, Texas) picked up the win after playing the first half. Lenoir-Rhyne held a 31-4 advantage in shots taken while 12 players scored for the Bears.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains at home to take on Tampa on Friday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m., while Brevard hosts Newberry in a conference game on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
