Augusta, Ga. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (21-19) snapped a three-game losing streak with an 8-3 victory over Augusta University (15-21) Wednesday evening at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

Josh Kent (Winston-Salem, N.C.) hit a two-run triple as part of a four-run fourth inning which gave the Bears the lead for good while sophomore outfielder
Zach Jacobs (Moncks Corner, S.C.) hit a solo home run, his third of the season, in the ninth inning to lead the Bears to the victory.

Fred Wadsworth (Columbia, S.C.) and junior outfielder
Marcus Shoemaker (Colfax, N.C.) both added two hits and two runs scored in the victory as well.

Matt Sullivan (Bristol, Va.) (1-1) earned his first victory of the year after allowing just two earned runs while pitching into the sixth inning. Augusta's Matthew Kuhlenberg (Columbus, Ga.) fell to 1-6 after taking the loss.
The Jaguars' Tyler Roberts (Fayetteville, Ga.) tallied two hits and drove in a run in the losing effort for Augusta, which suffered its fourth straight setback.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference action on Friday at 6:00 p.m., against Mars Hill at Bears Field beginning at 6:00 p.m. Augusta, meanwhile, faces Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga., on Friday night at 6:00 p.m.
