Jefferson City, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (3-2-1, 0-0-1) tied ninth-ranked Carson-Newman (5-0-1, 2-0-1), 2-2, after two overtimes Wednesday night in a South Atlantic Conference match at McCown Field.

Rachel Fischer (Clifton, Va.) forced overtime with a goal at the 86:36 mark of the second half. The score was Fisher's first of the season. Fisher headed the ball into the net off a corner kick from sophomore midfielder

The Bears were able to hold on for the tie despite allowing an own goal.

Abbie Brown (Leeds, ENGLAND) opened the scoring with her second goal of the season just 5:57 into the match while the Eagles' Holly Talbut-Smith (Crawley, ENGLAND) countered just 21 seconds after intermission to give Carson-Newman the short-lived advantage.
The shots were tied at 11 while the goalkeepers – Lenoir-Rhyne senior
Alayna Morris (Westminster, Md.) and Jacqueline Burns (Cookstown, NORTHERN IRELAND) – stopped five and seven shots, respectively.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains on the road to face Lincoln Memorial in a league contest Saturday at 1:00 p.m., in Harrogate, Tenn., while Carson-Newman hosts Queens on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
