Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team (5-2-1) continues to right the ship with its second straight victory, 2-1 over Lees-McRae (1-5-2), Wednesday night at the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex.

Hannah Van Eerden (Stokesdale, N.C.) and junior midfielder
Abbie Brown (Leeds, ENGLAND) both scored first-half goals and the Bears were able to manage to pull out the victory despite a late score from the Bobcats.
Van Eerden finished off a rebounded save at the 13:59 mark of the first half for her second goal of the year while Brown found the back of the net off a pass from sophomore defender
Christina Shimshock (Asheville, N.C.) in the 35th minute.
Lees-McRae cut the lead in half when Riley Neese (Greensboro, N.C.) took advantage of the Bears' goalkeeper being out of position and behind her for the score at the 70:45 mark of the second half but Lenoir-Rhyne was able to hold on.
Lenoir-Rhyne took the one-goal margin despite holding a 28-3 advantage in shots taken while senior
Alayna Morris (Westminster, Md.) earned the victory in goal after holding Lees-McRae scoreless in the first half. Alexis Feely (Wake Forest, N.C.), the Bobcats' goalkeeper, took the loss despite making eight saves.
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to South Atlantic Conference play on Saturday against Queens in Charlotte, N.C., beginning at 5:00 p.m. Lees-McRae hosts Southern Wesleyan as part of Homecoming on Saturday in Banner Elk, N.C., beginning at 1:30 p.m.
