Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team (7-3, 4-1) was dealt its first South Atlantic Conference loss of the year, 3-0 to Wingate (12-0, 7-0), Thursday evening at Shuford Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs, who remained unbeaten on the season, won by scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-21 and put an end to the Bears' six-game winning streak.
Wingate's Katie Bludau (Seabrook, Texas) finished with a match-high 15 kills while Rachel Alles (Tinley Park, Ill.) added eight kills and 31 assists in the victory.

Madison Asher (Abingdon, Va.) tallied eight kills each while sophomore setter
Anna Smith (Statesville, N.C.) finished with 16 assists in the setback. The Bears totaled 11 blocks on the evening despite the loss.
Lenoir-Rhyne remains at home to host Queens in a league contest Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., while Wingate plays Catawba in Salisbury, N.C., on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., as well.
