Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s Basketball Falls To Anderson, 75-65, On The Road

Anderson, S.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Basketball Team (7-10, 5-6) suffered a 75-65 loss to Anderson (7-12, 5-6) Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference action at the Abney Athletic Center.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne junior guard Djibril Diallo (Conakry, GUINEA) led all scorers with 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting despite the loss.
•    Four players registered in double figures for Anderson – led by Jeremy Bouton (Orlando, Fla.) with 15 points – as the Trojans notched their second straight victory.  Maurice Howard (Saluda, S.C.) added 12 points and seven assists for the Trojans, who led 31-25 at intermission and never relinquished the advantage the rest of way.
•    Junior center Bertrand Awana (Yaounde, CAMEROON) also scored in double figures for the Bears, totaling 12 points and seven rebounds but Lenoir-Rhyne hit just six-of-21 three-point attempts on the afternoon.  The Bears were just one-of-six from the charity stripe as well.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne senior guard Reed Lucas (Greensboro, N.C.) scored five points to increase his career total to 1,051 points (remaining 47th on the school's all-time list).
 
UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to face Coker in a South Atlantic Conference game on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.  Anderson, meanwhile, faces fourth-ranked Queens in a league contest next Saturday, January 27, at 4:00 p.m., in Charlotte, N.C.
