OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – The Men's Golf Team added to Lenoir-Rhyne's success on Monday and Tuesday by finishing second in the Myrtle Beach Invitational.
After the Bears shot a collective 290, the squad rallied to shoot 10-strokes better on Tuesday, giving the men's team a final scorecard that reported a 570 total score (+2 for the tournament) and two strokes behind the leader Lincoln Memorial. The Bears managed to separate themselves from the rest of the field as they were eight strokes ahead of the third-place team, the Barton Bulldogs.
Each participant for Lenoir-Rhyne managed to land in the top-20 in the field, including three in the in the top-11. The Bears were led by two seniors,
Brad Robinson, who ended the tournament tied for second overall with a score of 139, 3-under for the two rounds and Carlos Lasso was next in line, tied for sixth with a score of 142, which is par for the course and tournament.
This was the second-straight tournament where the two seniors placed at the top of the leaderboard for the men's golf team.
The Bears will continue their fall season as they travel to Morganton, N.C. for the Donald Ross Intercollegiate on Oct. 15 and 16.
