Charlotte, N.C. – After the second day of competition, the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Swimming Team find themselves in fourth place with 530 points while the Women's Swimming Team stayed in seventh place with 232 points after the second night of the 2018 Sheraton Le Meridien Fall Frenzy at the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.
The men kicked off the night with a new school record in the 200-yard medley relay. The team consisting of freshman
Jacob Greene (Lewisville, N.C.), junior
Jacob Queen (Hickory, N.C.), freshman
John Ryan (Cummings, Ga.) and sophomore
Spencer Ashby (Spartanburg, S.C.) finished in sixth place with a time of 1:34.04. Greene also broke the 100-yard backstroke record with a time of 52.21. The other top finisher for the men tonight was Queen in the 100-yard breaststroke (sixth place, 56.81).
On the women's side, freshman
Kimberly Scheiber (Pleizenhausen, Germany) broke two school records on night two of competition: the 400-yard individual medley (eleventh place, 4:33.32) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.00).
The competition continues in the final day of competition Sunday with the 1650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, and 400-yard freestyle relay.
