Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Basketball Team overcame a slow start to defeat Johnson C. Smith by a final score of 68-60 on Saturday afternoon. The Bears got a career-high 17 points from freshman
Hanna McClung who went 5-for-7 from the field and 6-for-7 from the free throw line.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• The Bears were sluggish to start the game today, going scoreless for 6:14 to start the game. The Golden Bulls jumped out to an early 12-0 lead that was cut to a 13-10 deficit by the end of the first quarter.
• Thanks to McClung, the Bears bench outscored the JCSU reserves 45-10. LR also had a 17-5 advantage in points off turnovers.

Kendall Toineeta added 14 points and four assists, while
Ashley Rodriguez added 12 points and six boards.
Madeline Hardy led the Bears with nine boards and added six points.
• Teana Lewis finished with a game-high 19 points for JCSU in a losing effort.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Prior to today's contest, McClung hadn't scored more than eight points in a game but exploded for double that output.
• The Bears have now gone 5-1 since dropping their first two matchups of the 2018-19 season.
