LR Men’s Lacrosse Wins Double Overtime Thriller, 14-13 Over No. 9 Seton Hill

Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team (3-0), ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II, rallied from a four-goal deficit to pull off an improbable double overtime win over No. 9 Seton Hill (1-1), 14-13, Saturday afternoon in a battle of two of the best teams in the country at Moretz Stadium.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•    LR junior All-American long stick middle Collin Lett (Greensboro, N.C.) scored the game-winner 43 seconds into the second overtime off an assist from senior midfielder Ben Corrigan (Alpharetta, Ga.), who finished with three goals and a pair of assists.
•    Lenoir-Rhyne – which trailed by an 8-4 score midway through the second period – also received four goals and two assists from junior attacker Joe Buduo (Shrewsbury, Mass.).  Buduo also scored with 35 seconds remaining in the final period to force overtime.
•    Seton Hill, which held a 45-41 advantage in shots taken, was led by Zach Rusch (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Logan Maloni (McMurray, Pa.) with three goals each.
•    Lenoir-Rhyne senior Ryan Crompton (Frederick, Md.) came up big for the home team, totaling a career-high 19 saves.   Seton Hill's Max Eismann (Rochester, N.Y.) suffered the loss in goal despite 11 stops on the afternoon.
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne defeated a highly-ranked team for the second straight week.  Last Saturday, the Bears downed previously top-ranked and the defending national champion Saints of Limestone by a 17-13 score on the road.
•    The Bears are 26-4 in their last 30 contests dating back to the start of the 2016 season.

UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne returns to the field on Monday to take on Molloy beginning at 1:00 p.m., at Moretz Stadium while Seton Hill hosts Roberts Wesleyan next Saturday, February 24, at Noon.
