Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team (17-4), ranked No. 12 in NCAA Division II, made easy work of Davis & Elkins (5-5) with a doubleheader sweep, 16-1 and 6-1, Thursday afternoon at Bears Field.

STATS OF THE GAME (Game 1):
• Lenoir-Rhyne freshman third baseman
Talon LaClair (Statesville, N.C.) hit a three-run home run in the first inning and the Bears put the contest away with a 10-run second inning. LaClair finished with four runs batted in.
• The Bears registered only nine hits in the first contest but was aided by eight walks and four errors.
• Lenoir-Rhyne junior
Brandi Parks (Roaring River, N.C.) improved to 7-3 after picking up the win while Allie Lapallo (North Chesterfield, Va.) (3-3) suffered the loss but hit a solo home run in the second inning for the Senators.
STATS OF THE GAME (Game 2):
• Two Bears – junior outfielder
Erin Boone (Creedmoor, N.C.) and freshman outfielder
Savannah Moorefield (Claudville, Va.) – hit solo home runs while senior shortstop
Madison Carter (Bessemer City, N.C.) drove in three runs in the victory.
• Lenoir-Rhyne junior
Emily Kenley (Charlotte, N.C.) (9-1) won her ninth straight contest with the complete game victory while Victoria Krystynak (Ronceverte, W.Va.) fell to 1-3 after taking the loss for Davis & Elkins.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Lenoir-Rhyne improved to 10-0 at home this year and has now won 15 of its last 16 contests.
