Harrogate, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Tennis Team (13-8, 4-6) fell in its final regular season match of the season – 8-1 to Lincoln Memorial (12-6, 7-3) – Saturday afternoon in a South Atlantic Conference contest on the road. LMU is ranked No. 33 in NCAA Division II.
Lenoir-Rhyne's duo of juniors
Hamed Gandouz (Hammam Sousse, TUNISIA) and
Shane O'Dea (Dublin, IRELAND) won at first doubles for the Bears. Gandouz and O'Dea defeated Lincoln Memorial's Jake Tuchmann (Kennesaw, Ga.) and Moritz Hoerner (Erlangen, GERMANY) by a score of 8-3. The tandem is 7-1 on the year including a 5-1 mark in league play, all at No. 1 doubles.
Lenoir-Rhyne is the seventh seed in the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Championship and will take on second-seeded Wingate on Wednesday in Wingate, N.C. Meanwhile, third-seeded Lincoln Memorial will host No. 6 Tusculum in league quarterfinal action on Wednesday as well.
