Rock Hill, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team has been picked to finish eighth in the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced this morning.
Sophomore outside hitter
Taylor Prall earned 2018 All-SAC Preseason Second-Team honors for the Bears. The reigning SAC Freshman of the Year finished second on the team with 255 kills and added 219 digs, 37 blocks and seven service aces.
Prall recorded a career-high 18 kills against American International and posted a personal-best .556 hitting percentage against Saint Anselm. The Tipp City, Ohio native played in all 26 matches and posted a .183 hitting percentage.
Wingate is the preseason favorite after receiving 10 of the 11 first-place votes. Anderson, last year's regular season champions, were picked to finish second and earned a first-place vote.
LR opens up regular season play at the UNC Pembroke Invitational on August 31. The home opener is scheduled for Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Newberry.
