2019 Season Comes to a Close as Bears Fall to Queens in SAC Tournament

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  For the third time this season, the Lenoir-Rhyne Volleyball Team lost to Queens, this one ended the 2019 campaign for the Bears. The Royals handed LR a 3-0 defeat in the Quarterfinals of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. However, a 13-kill performance from junior OH Taylor Prall put her in the LR record books. Prall finishes 10th in program history with 404 kills on the year and her 3.88 kills/set on the year ranks fifth in team history.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•   Prall finished with her 12th double-double on the season as she added 17 digs. Prall's 1,171 total attempts on the year ranks fifth in team history.
•   Ashley Hawkins added 18 digs to give her 491 for the season. That figure ranks as the eighth-most in a single season in Bears history. 
•   The Bears couldn't overcome a slow first set that saw them hit .000 with eight errors. For the night, LR hit .120 with 19 errors. 
•   In her last collegiate match, Jackie Denny finished with six kills and a block. Denny goes down with the fifth most blocks of any player in LR history and her 1.01 blocks per set places her third in LR history.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
•    Prall sits just 54 kills shy of 1,000 on her career. She also needs 302 digs as a senior to finish with 1,000 digs as well.
•    Hawkins needs just 79 digs for 1,000 on her career and with two years left, the Olin, N.C. native can shoot up the record book. Her 4.59 digs/set this year ranks sixth in program history.
•    Queens has won eight matches in a row and advances on to play Anderson in the SAC Tournament Semifinal.
