Greenwood, S.C.--- On the second day of the PBC/SAC Challenge Bears, Kennedy Weigt broke the school record for most three pointers in a game with eight. Weigt led all scorers with 27 points to led the Bears to a 82-70 over USC Aiken.  LR also tied the school record with a total of 14 three point field goals.

Stats of the Game:

• USC AIken jumped out to a 15-7 lead to start the game before the Bears went on a 9-0 run to close the first quarter.
• LR then went on a 27-5 run to take a double digit lead, which the Bears held on to for the rest of the game. 
• Laney Fox sparked the Bears off the bench to score 24 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 25 minutes.
• Fox scored 24 of the 27 bench points for the Bears. 
• Weigt and Fox combined to shoot 14 from 30 beyond the three point line. 
• Madeline Hardy added 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Hardy also added 9 rebounds and 5 assists. 
• Karlie Bearden was a force in the paint, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking 6 Pacers shots; Beaden also pitched in with 8 points. 

Beyond the Box Score:

• LR's first win over USC Aiken in 10 years. Bears last win was in 2009 over the Pacers.
• Pacers still lead the all-time series 8-2.
• Todays win was the Bears first in the two years of the PBC/SAC Challenge.
• Before Weigt's eight three points, the previous record was seven which happened three previous times. Tami Matheny (1992), Sally Logan (2002) and most recently Lanica Williams in 2003 all hit seven triples.
• Bears tied the school record with 14 three points; Bears also made 14 on February 23, 2019 against Mars Hill. 

Up Next: Before the Bears return home for their home opener on Saturday, they will make the short drive to play UNC Asheville in an exhibition game Wednesday at 6 PM.
