HICKORY, N.C. - For the first time in program history, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Tennis Team defeated Emmanuel. The Bears topped the Lions by a score of 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.

"It was an unbelievable effort from everyone involved with Bears tennis today," said Head Coach
Tom Rees. "Our teams were brave and played with great courage. to come out on top in a great battle and with tremendous adversity, it says a lot about our program."
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears won in all three doubles matches to take the commanding advantage early.
The Lions took wins in first and second singles as well as the fourth spot for their three points.
Diana Babinets took a crucial win in third singles and
Gemma Southwick won in the fifth spot. All of these decisions set the stage for a dramatic clinching win in sixth singles from Saane Janssen who outlasted Victoria Silva 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 to send the Bears to a historic victory over Emmanuel.
