Young Harris, Ga. – Playing against two of the top teams in the region, the Lenoir-Rhyne Softball Team earned an impressive sweep of Georgia College and Young Harris on Saturday evening. Rain changed the schedule over the course of the weekend but didn't stop LR from pushing their winning streak to six straight.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

STATS OF GAME ONE:
• The Bears got on the board in the top of the first on an RBI base hit from
Leanna Sherrill and a bases-loaded walk to
Mackensi Swain. However, the Bobcats would rally with a pair in the bottom of the fourth to even the score.
• Each team would score a run in the sixth before LR pushed across two in the top of the seventh to take control. Swain hit the first of her two homers of the night and
Kory Hammett singled in a run.

Brandi Parks would pick up her sixth win of the season by allowing just one earned run. Parks struck out four and allowed just four base hits to a tough lineup.

Savannah Moorefield went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and
Erin Boone had a four-hit game. Boone added a run scored and an RBI.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
• Parks was dominant in the nightcap, firing a complete game four-hitter. Parks struck out three and tossed her second complete game shutout of the season.
• The game was scoreless until the top of the fifth when LR erupted for four runs.
Talon LaClair stroked an RBI single to right field to score Moorefield to set the stage for Swain. The first basemen crushed a 3-run homer to left field to seal the LR win.
• Boone added two more hits in game two as did LaClair. Moorefield went 1-for-3 with a run and a walk and added a double.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• With her two homers today, Swain has four bombs on the season. Swain has homered in three different states so far this year: Florida, North Carolina and now Georgia.
• Parks is tied for second in the league with seven wins. Swain is tied for fourth in the conference in long balls.

LR returns home for the first time since Feb. 16 when they host Erskine on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
