Men's Lacrosse Crushes No. 19 Catawba, 17-5

HICKORY, N.C.  – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse Team put 17 goals on the board for the third straight game and earned their second straight 17-5 victory, handing No. 19 Catawba their first conference loss of the season.

STATS OF THE GAME:
•  The Bears jumped all over the nationally-ranked Indians and never let up. LR scored nine of the game's first 10 goals to overpower the visitors. 
•  Joe Buduo had a hat trick in the first half and finished with four goals while adding three assists for a seven point evening. Eric Dickinson and Quinn Kuhn each netted three goals and Ryan Bell and Mitchell Linklater dished out a pair of assists. 
•  Patrick Sullivan won 15-of-25 faceoffs and grabbed seven groundballs in his best game of the season. Defensively, Noah Johnson allowed just four goals and made 14 saves to earn the victory. Johnson, who was named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week last week, has now has double-digit save totals in eight games in his freshman season.
•  LR shot 53 times in the game and held a 43-27 advantage in ground balls. The Bears were lethal with the man advantage, scoring twice in three attempts. 
 
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
•    This marks the seventh game against a ranked opponent this season for the Bears who continue to have one of the most difficult schedules in the nation. 
•    In their three game winning streak, Lenoir-Rhyne has outscored its opponents 51-13. 
 
UP NEXT:
The Bears host Mars Hill on Saturday at 2 p.m. in their home finale. Prior to faceoff, the Bears will honor their senior class.
