HICKORY, N.C. – It took the seventh inning stretch, but the Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team used an eight-run inning in the bottom of the seventh to come back and take the midweek home victory over the Limestone Saints, 12-8, on Wednesday night.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• The big inning by the Bears bats proved to be the difference in this one, and in the inning there were four RBI singles, two hit by pitches and a bases-loaded double from
Brock Johnson to create the final separation to make it 11-7 before the inning came to a close. The Saints had three different arms on the mound during the game's lengthy frame.
• Lenoir-Rhyne faced an 7-3 deficit heading into the seventh inning and allowed the first three runs in the opening frame of the game.
• By the end of the game, it was
Griffin Templeton who took the win on the mound for the Bears as he worked just one inning and struck out two while giving up just one hit.
• The Saints were dynamic at the plate, led by Benjamin Huber (3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs) and five different batters with at least two hits in the game. Chase Allen, Alex Cornell and Huber all drove in two runs. Limestone's Trey Jenkins took his first loss of the season as he gave up two runs and one hit without even recording an out in the seventh inning.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• The eight-run explosion is the most runs scored in an inning for Lenoir-Rhyne all season.
• Ranel did not play so keeps his seven game hit streak intact, and Freeman has matched that mark in games with a hit after tonight's game.
• LR is now winners of five midweek games in a row, and own an 9-4 record on the year in those contests.
• Going into this game, the Bears owned a 7-3 record against the Saints in the last 10 games.
