COACHES TAKE

"I couldn't have asked for any more from these guys this season," said Head Coach Tom Rees. "They have taken the program to an unprecedented level and they should be proud of what they have accomplished. I am already looking forward to working with our returners in the fall and will be forever grateful to our seniors. To everyone who has supported our program this year, thank you. We couldn't have done it without you."

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bears battled in doubles play but Queens ultimately came away with the point. The Royals narrowly edged Hamed Gandouz and Tales Miranda 6-4 in the third spot and came away with a tough 7-6 victory over Paul Lenz and Rhodri Atkinson in second doubles. The first doubles pairing of Shane O'Dea and Mauricio Hernandez was halted with the score tied at six as Queens clinched the point.

In singles play, Queens pulled away. The Royals took straight set wins in the first, second and fifth spots to clinch the 4-0 victory. Atkinson had won the first set in second singles and O'Dea won his second set but the matches went unfinished after the Queens clincher.

UP NEXT

The Bears wrap up an unbelievable season with 18 overall wins and their first-ever trip to the SAC Semifinals. LR also earned its first-ever national ranking and placed six on the All-Conference team.
