WINGATE, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team and the Queens Royals went head-to-head in the 2019 South Atlantic Conference Championship game, a repeat match up from 2018. The Royals used an 8-0 run to start the game and never looked back, defeating the Bears, 22-8, on Sunday afternoon.

STATS OF THE GAME:

Rachel Elmore had a hat trick, but it was SAC Co-Freshman of the Year,
Gia Colombo who led Lenoir-Rhyne with four goals on the afternoon.
Alyssa Sack scored the remaining goal for the Bears.

After the Royals opened the game on an eight-goal run, the Bears responded with four-straight of their own. The next 14 goals were split 10-4 and the Royals were off to the races.

Teanna Sieben took the loss in goal, working nearly 37 minutes minutes, giving up 15 goals and picking up three saves in the game.
Cristi Rowland closed out the final 23 minutes of the game while allowing seven goals and picking up two saves.
• Queens' Chase Brokaw, who also garnered SAC Tournament and Championship MVP, was credited with the win and seven saves.
• The Royals were led in scoring by Kara Blanchard with five goals and Ally Blood and Katie Wardle with four each.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• After the game, Elmore, Colombo, Sack and
Morgan Ulvenes played their way onto the SAC All-Tournament Team.
• This was Colombo's third game with at least three goals, and she matched her season-high for the year with her four goals scored.
