Women’s Lacrosse Knocks LMU off the Rails in Road Victory

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team used a season-high scoring performance from Alyssa Sack and the best defensive effort this season to defeat the Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters, 17-4, on Saturday afternoon. The four goals allowed is the least given up by the Bears whose season-low was seven allowed to both Newberry and Tusculum.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• LR's Gia Colombo and LMU's Rachel Gardner got the scoring started with one each before Alyssa Sack scored two of her six, leading to 16-straight goals for Lenoir-Rhyne to secure the road conference win.
• The Bears held the Railsplitters scoreless from the 28:45 mark in the first half to Amara Moss's goal with 6:05 remaining in the game.
• Lenoir-Rhyne was led offensively by Sack who finished the game with six goals and two assists. Gia Colombo put in four goals of her own. Cassie Lafler and Morgan Ulvenes had six and five groundballs respectively to lead the road team.
• LMU had a different player score each goal for the game. They were outshot by the Bears, 28-11 (23-9 on goal), had more turnovers (21-14) and Lenoir-Rhyne never felt pressure from the Railsplitters as they were perfect on 17 clear attempts.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Sack's six goals is a season and career-high, and she now has 23 goals on the season.
• Lenoir-Rhyne is a perfect 8-0 when scoring 15 or more points, and today marks the season best in goals given up this season. LR also improved their road record to 5-3 on the year
Teanna Sieben earned her fourth win of the season, working over 40 minutes of action and collecting three saves in the process.
 
UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne heads back home to host the Catawba College Indians on Wednesday, April 10 at 4 p.m. in a South Atlantic Conference battle.
